The camera is showing up as an unknown device in Device Manager. If I right-click and choose 'update driver', then choose 'automatically search', it finds the Facetime HD Camera device then tries to install the driver. The driver install then fails with the message I mentioned in the previous post. The Broadcom BCM8910X is a fully-integrated BroadR-Reach® camera endpoint microcontroller (MCU) device designed for automotive vision-based applications including rearview and side-view cameras. The built-in ARM Cortex core supports low latency interrupt processing though the RTOS, runs an Ethernet Audio Video Broadcast (AVB) stack, and processes housekeeping tasks for a wide range of peripherals supporting 100Mbps / 1Gbps Ethernet, GMSL and wireless camera applications. The camera board connects directly to the main logic board, which just so happens to contain a Broadcom BCM15700A2 chip that no one seems to know the purpose of. As the part number contains the camera controller’s PCIe bus ID, it is very likely the chip in question, particularly since there are no other mysterious Broadcom chips on the logic.
